"The Gilmore Girls?" I don't get it.

A local tv, pop culture critic here is insane over this show. I tried a few times to watch it as he is usually pretty good on his recommendations but I just don't understand this one.

I couldn't watch but a few minutes of 2 episodes it was so boring and banal - like a soap opera. Sort of 50's like - maybe '60's yikes so trivial...who cares?
