late one night... going to I-10, and a coyote started loping along next to my car. I honestly think he was stalking me.

I would often see coyotes in small packs of 4 or 5, pairs, and singles. Decided if I had car trouble, I would stay with the car and not try to walk to get help. Not fond of coyotes - at all!

garage when I was gone. I came home one night to see a young coyote sitting right in front of the closed garage door. I stayed in the car to watch. The young coyote and my dog were singing to each other!!! Mals, of course, still have the wolf voice, so it was delightful watching them. I kept looking around for the mother, but never saw her. I stayed in the car so as not to frighten the little one, who left about ten minutes later. This was repeated forbtwo more nights, and then I never saw the little one again. I guessed that one of the predators had gotten it.

It was just an amazing experience. Long before cell phones, and my caneras were in the house.
