“You know I lived in Phoenix for a long, long time,” Valenzuela says. “But when I go back, I can’t help but notice that people can play live music five, six nights a week. The Zubia guys and Scotty, they have second careers playing five nights a week. It’s a nice job. You can’t do that in Los Angeles. When I retire, I’m gonna move back to Phoenix.”

And then, with a laugh, he adds, “It’s gonna be like Branson for alternative rockers. Let’s start our own theater.”
