TUCSON In a final push before Arizonas presidential preference election, Senator Bernie Sanders held his second rally in Tucson.
In this campaign, for people 30 years of age and younger, we have received more votes than Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump combined, Sanders said.
Thousands of enthusiastic supporters attended the event at the Tucson Convention Center Arena. The venue holds about 9,000. There were still sections that were largely open toward the back of the arena.
In October, his campaign estimated about 11,000 at a rally at Reid Park.

(1,264 posts)I was happy to read that the turnout at Trump's rally today, est. 5,000, was lower than the turnout for Sanders' rally at the same location yesterday.
I was at the Sanders rally last October in Reid park. I've never seen so many people at the bandshell where it took place. It was wonderfully heartening to see the ethnic diversity and the great age spread, with large numbers of exuberant young people.
I was at a wedding today in Tucson. ALL the young people I talked with are voting for Sanders.

On a side note, I got banned from the Hillary group by Cha. Her comment was "You're not raining on anyone's parade.. Hillary's winning the popular vote, the delegates and the Super Dels. We just need to wrap this up."
I replied "That Is Precisely the sort of arrogance that will keep voters home in the GE. I live in WA state and would like a say in the primary process before wrapping this up for your anointed one, thank you very much."
Guess I was little too tough on her.
