Dragoon is about 7 miles from me, but I don't think the fire has gotten down to the railroad tracks yet. there are some homes on the other side and to the north. wind is doing all kinds of strange things and the smoke is pretty strong.

(111,277 posts)but the showers are supposed to have ended today, so we'll brace ourselves, also.
I hope your fire is contained soon. Even when the fire isn't close, it gets really hard to breathe this time of year.
Stay safe.

(55,014 posts)fortunately nobody in the house has any serious respiratory problems but it gives me a headache after a while. we still have about a 10% chance of storms today and tonight (just more dry lightening, I am sure)
there are several more small fires around the area and fuels remain abundant and crispy so it ain't over!
my son climbed the mountain behind the house and got some pictures
it got to the tracks in one place and burned a house in Dragoon, the East Cochise Stronghold is on alert to evacuate and so is Dragoon Mountain Ranch (combo of ranch and "ranchettes"
