My daughter invited me to lunch today. She works in central Phoenix. We often dine at a Chinese American restaurant near her office, China Chili. As I tuck into the best fried, jumbo shrimp, with hot mustard and sweet and sour on the side, in walks a security crew, dressed in business attire, followed by Governor Ducey and his personal body guard, six more followed later, parking is limited.
I waved as they (I counted 7) passed by, without any acknowledgement. It served my guilty pleasure to recognize their visit, hey, I live here. The governor, like many celebrities surprised me with their vertical challenges. He was about 57 and dressed in a suit that would not impress an Armani snob.
What is with these politicians who make US buy lunch for a gang of security thugs who do not even acknowledge our presence?

(7,888 posts)I do not care if the gov. is 4 ft. tall. He talks a big talk and walks a little walk. Height was just a metaphor for his performance, sorta like the size of his stick.

(20,998 posts)...I've never been impressed with the AZ Tea Party-ish crowd. I don't think they've been good for ALL OF ARIZONA.
China Chili, however, IS ONE OF MY FAVES. Good food and very nice people.
