Primavera responds to Republic investigation of charter's $8.8M CEO pay, dropout rate

Primavera online charter school is pushing back on an Arizona Republic investigation of its financial and academic performance, including an $8.8 million payment to Chief Executive Damian Creamer.

Before the story's publication online on Aug. 22, Creamer and Primavera's executive director, Andrew F. Szczepaniak, had declined repeated requests for interviews, and did not respond to a list of 21 questions sent to the school.

Five days after publication, Primavera, via a public relations consultant, offered some information to The Republic.
