Supreme Court this morning rejected the mining industry's petition to challenge the 20-year time-out on new uranium mining claims on 1 million acres of public land around the canyon.

4-4 means stalemate on all the RW agenda.
Just speculating but the mining industry must have been counting on K. being there.
As an aside Department of the Interior opposed the mining companies on this.

I'm sure this is one of many reasons that the GOP wanted Kavanaugh on the court starting today.

the Mining Company that wanted to mine Uranium in that area as well as the Bears Ears Monument area,is in bad financial shape and are in the process of shutting down operations because of lack of funding.
So far they issued 425 k in stock to finance the original opening of mining has pulled their next round of financing.
Sure smells like a Con Job Mining operation.
