Democrat Mahony seeks Cotton's seat in Senate

A Fayetteville Democrat who last year ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. House of Representatives launched another campaign Wednesday, this time for a seat in the U.S. Senate.

Josh Mahony, who received 32.6 percent of the vote in his race against incumbent Republican Steve Womack in the state's 3rd Congressional District in November, hopes to take on Republican U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton of Dardanelle in 2020.

In a conference call Wednesday morning, Mahony portrayed Cotton as a politician who has lost touch with the state he represents.

"He left Arkansas for D.C. the first chance he had, and it's plain to me and a lot of folks that he's just using us for his own ambitions. I've had enough of it, and I believe the good people of Arkansas have, too," Mahony said.

I tried a few times to contact his campaign and to volunteer and he never contacted me. So, I'm not exactly impressed with his drive. Give me hope!

totally disorganized. He didn't even get yard signs and stickers to the Washington County Democrats for their fair booth.

To show great weakness? or to show indifference? Maybe someone else will throw their hat into the ring too.

Hopefully he can get his campaign organized since he has done this before and had an opportunity to learn from his prior experience.

Excerpts from the email:

This is the new reality. Democrats are the mob party -- pounding on the doors of the Supreme Court. They NEED anger and fear to win because their ideas have been rejected.

Now, they are sending a self-professed "angry" man to challenge me, and he's counting on party insiders and failed socialist ideas to rally the support of the angry liberal mob.
-----
BUT Democrats proved in 2016 they can raise millions of dollars online through ActBlue. They nearly raised enough to oust an incumbent Senator in Texas -- making headlines across the nation.
----
I'm running on a record of accomplishment. My opponent is running on divisive socialist anger.

I've been busy repealing the Obamacare mandate, getting infrastructure investments to Arkansas, and being a leader on national security. The liberal mob has been busy endlessly investigating our president and blocking our America First agenda.

It would be so good to see Mahoney take this seat. Cotton is an extreme right winger and confirmed Trumpster.
