4.0 quake centered near Concord rattles Bay Area
A magnitude 4.0 earthquake centered just south of Concord rattled the Bay Area on Sunday afternoon.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported the quake occured about 3:13 p.m., with an epicenter half a mile south of Concord. In San Francisco, the quake felt like a quick jolt.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

USGS says it was the Concord-Green Valley Fault. The 2003 Working Group for California Earthquake Probability assigned a 4% probability that the Concord-Green Valley Fault system would produce a magnitude 6.7 or larger earthquake in the next 30 years.
