You Will have no problem finding one. I don't know the names but beach access is easy.

Sugar Pine Point State Park on the west side of the lake is not half bad for late afternoon shade.

I'd Google to find a place that rents stand up paddle boards at Tahoe and ask the folks there about a good beach.

7. Just a heads up

There's a huge fire near Markleeville, CA, just down the highway from Tahoe. The smoke from the fire is probably going to make a visit to Tahoe quite miserable this weekend.

The smoke is presently accumulating in the Central Valley and drifting south. But then again, that could change.

9. I like El Dorado Beach; I also agree with Sugar Pine Point State Park. Good activities in El Dorado

Make sure you stop off and spend time in Emerald Bay.

Here's a view from way out in the chilly water at El Dorado Beach:

and here's looking down into the clear, clean water. Yes, you can walk out quite far and still not be over your head. I've placed this shot as the background on my cell phone:

Fortunately, I was able to walk way out with my camera held over my head without any tragic camera mishaps.

12. We went to Kings Beach and it was pretty crowded but still enough room. It was pretty hot too.

You can rent kyacks, paddle boards and peddle boats at Kings Beach and my daughter wanted to try her hand at the Kyack. She really enjoyed herself. Next time I'd like to try one of the other places mentioned. We drove by Emerald Bay and I can see why it gets that name, beautiful green bay. Someone else told me Zephyr Cove is nice. The smoke from the Markleyville fire hit only a small portion of the south east part of the lake on the Nevada side. It didn't seem to be a problem anywhere else.
