On Aug. 19, he will host a civic tech competition at The Hall focused on ideas on using technology to improve public service. The event doubles as a $25 per person campaign fundraiser.

On Aug. 20, O’Malley will host a civic tech panel discussion at Brigade — the Sean Parker-funded startup. The event will address transforming public service through technology and how to diversify Silicon Valley. The panel will feature Kimberly Bryant, founder of Black Girls Code; Sid Espinosa, director of philanthropy and civic engagement at Microsoft; Carmen Rojas, CEO of the Workers Lab and Sam Lessin, former vice president of product at Facebook.
