So I live in texas and want to move 'somewhere' in a couple years. What's the law now in

California as far as starting a legal pot farm business in California, KERN county? Are people free to start-up a business or are grows still highly restricted to certain areas in California? I'm positive I can meet any requirements for any needed permits. I would use kern county land zoned for agriculture, business or unrestricted.

I'm just floating ideas for my own personal future in a Republican controlled country. And in the USA I want to live close in to amenities of life, like pizza delivery.

appreciate any comments or links from California people, thanks!

It has links to the HSC (Health and Safety Codes) for many of your questions. Check it out!

The new recreational marijuana law passed by the voters gives the state until 1/1/18 to work out regulations for permits for retail stores and growers. Not to mention any local laws. Right now it is legal to posses recreational stuff, but technically the only way you could have legally gotten it is as a gift from a medicinal user. It will take a year to really figure this all out. My county government is still in the process of forming committees to study things. Some counties will fight it more than others. Frankly, I would expect Kern County to not be very cooperative.

During our ten+ years of legal medicinal pot Mendocino county has been pretty liberal about growing and dispensing.

I would wait and see what approach the Feds take after Sessions is confirmed before I would invest anything in Cannabis production, including moving, or purchasing land.
