my mom and a sister, and niece live there. The niece and my mom's partner are RWers.

Registered Republicans in California lately have been reregistering as Independents. I think the 50th district is not immune to this trend.

Hunter's general obnoxiousness regarding the Navy and voters in his district ("they're stupid" if they disagreed with Trump's policies, he said in a recent interview) won't serve him well.

Lots of Hispanics in the district, to boot. I think Campa-Najjar may have a chance, despite the vocal Tea Party organization in the area.
