Is this legitimate? I dont remember giving out my phone number. Thanks!
Hi socal31, I'm XX, a volunteer with Gavin Newsom for Governor. Voting has begun in CA! 🎉 So much is at stake in this election, and races in your district are super close - mail-in voters like you could determine the outcome on Nov 6. According to the voter file, you should be receiving your ballot soon if you haven't already. Are you planning to vote for Gavin and Democrats down the ticket?
Edit: per the replies this is common, im late to the party. Will reply with a thank you to the volunteer working on a Saturday!

I may be naive but I haven't questioned any of them. I guess, go with your gut on this.

(3,769 posts)and I've been texting people my precinct who I can't reach by phone. I have an out of area phone number and many people dont pick up. Then I leave a voice mail with polling place and absentee ballot info and follow up with text with links to that info.
Per my instructions from the Dekalb County Dems, I only reach out to people who voted in 2016 but not in 2014.
Your texts are likely legit
