Let the poaching proceed - Gov. Perry heading to California Sunday on business recruitment trip

This week began with Gov. RIck Perry, under the auspices of TexasOne, launching a low-budget radio campaign in California inviting businesses to move to Texas.

Next week begins Sunday with Perry traveling to San Francisco, the Silicon Valley, Los Angeles and Orange County, leading a business recruitment trip, also paid for by Texas One, that will include a reception for businesses that got in touch with TexasWideOpenForBusiness.com since the ad began running.

Perry and company are targeting California’s high tech, biotechnology, financial, insurance and film industries.

All the costs of the four-day trip — the governor and an accompanying delegation will return Wednesday — will also be paid for byTexasOne, a public-private partnership that markets Texas as a place to do business.

According to the governor’s office, Perry’s delegation will include Texas Economic Development Corp. Chair Bruce Bugg, several local economic development officials and business representatives representing Oncor, BNSF Railway, and the cities of Allen, Amarillo, Austin, Brownsville, Conroe, DeSoto, Frisco, Houston, Lubbock, Midland, McKinney, Pflugerville, San Antonio and Schertz.

treasury anyway. It seems those businesses they are targeting have already moved many of their operations to Asia, and other countries. You are a little too late Governor Perry.

Not a damn thing, as America has learned over and over and over to it's everlasting regret.

Some Fox talking heads were crowing about the plan to reduce taxes in their (red) States...

& get businesses/corporations to move there, leaving blue States with no jobs.

States have been trying to poach businesses off one another forever.

There is a good reason why the blue states have:
- Higher family incomes
- Higher education levels
- Fewer teen pregnancies
- Fewer divorces
- Greater range of arts and cultural outlets
- Subsidies to keep the red states alive
- etc
- etc

Nothing in this latest campaign changes any of that.

I never watch Fox, except for that hour...and the smugness and meanness of the commentators stopped me from turning the channel until they were done..

They seemed so sure of their plan to denude blue States of jobs, that I was really upset...

You have reassured me and I'm very thankful...
