Why are our legislators and the governor doing *nothing* about the PG&E increases?

The members of the P.U.C. need to be recalled, any and all rate increases clawed back, and PG&E told to get their wildfire upgrades done in a timeframe of months.

To be honest, I think any of our politicians *not* outraged and taking action on this need to be recalled or primaried.

Our ostensibly Democratic leaders are letting a monopoly have its way with us with ZERO oversite or accountability. We have some of the highest rates in the nation, natural gas and non-electric tools and appliances are being phased out leaving us ever more at the mercy of a nasty, but apparently well connected monopoly.

Action now against PG&E.

Pretty much the same here in Oregon, Pacific Power gets a 13+% increase, while those of us on SS got a whole 3.2% increase which was mostly eaten up by medicare increases and real inflation that was much higher than they claim...Corporate america is in charge, no doubt about it.

Luckily I have no problem wearing a warm robe and putting a blanket on during the day. My husband has to always turn on the heater when he gets home! And asks me why I didn’t have the heater on to warm up the house. And we just had to get our older furnace rebuilt!

Although I'd really rather have SoCal Edison.

San Diego Gas and Electric has the highest rates in the nation.

And every single day they are drumming up more ways to make it utterly useless to have solar.

To say they are hated is an understatement.

California utilities won't push back against CA's aggressive renewable energy targets (although they don't necessarily think they are even possible), and the PUC will approve whatever the utilities says it will cost to implement these targets. Example: It will definitely cost a fortune to extend the life of PG&E's Diablo Canyon nuclear plant beyond its original planned service life, but that's what the governor wants (so the lights don't go out under his watch), so I expect that the PUC is going to approve whatever it ultimately costs.

Although I don't live in California anymore, I did for 54 years and spent the first part of my career as a power plant engineer for SCE, so I tend to read anything related to the energy markets in CA.
