Raid of East Bay home finds grenades, machine guns, 1 million rounds of ammo

San Francisco Chronicle / 2-14-2024

California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced on Thursday the arrest of an unnamed East Bay resident accused of amassing an illegal stockpile of military-grade weapons that included grenades, machine guns and 1 million rounds of ammunition.

The Attorney General’s Office did not provide the person’s name or charges after agents from the California Department of Justice’s Bureau of Firearms searched the person’s Richmond (San Francisco Bay Area) home on Jan. 31. The person is legally barred from owning weapons.

Agents seized 11 military-style machine guns, 133 handguns, 37 rifles, 60 assault rifles, seven shotguns, 20 silencers, four flare guns, 3,000 large capacity magazines, approximately 1 million rounds of miscellaneous caliber ammunition and dozens of rifle receivers and pistol frames, the attorney general’s office said.

A bomb squad responded to the home after agents discovered a cache of grenades, which were found to be inert.

I’m wondering if this arsenal in Richmond is connected to a cartel or organized crime, or is it just the fetish collection of one particularly horny Ammosexual?
