Randi Rhodes moving to 910 in SF Bay Area - stronger signal but only 2 hours

http://radioinsight.com/blog/headlines/86875/clear-channel-moving-rush-limbaugh-in-los-angeles-san-francisco/

In San Francisco, Limbaugh will move from 910 KKSF to 960 KNEW. KNEW will drop its mix of Liberal, Business, and Advice hosts to go all Conservative Talk branded as “Right Radio“. Sean Hannity will move to KNEW as well from Cumulus’ 560 KSFO, while Glenn Beck will remain in mornings.

KKSF will expand Armstrong & Getty’s morning show until 10am and move Frosty Stillwell from 12-3pm to 10am-1pm. Randi Rhodes will move from KNEW to fill the 1-3pm slot preceding Gil Gross’ local 3-7pm show.

910's daytime signal is 20 kW, 960 is just 5 kW and is spotty in San Jose. Interesting development to happen when Thom Hartmann and Stephanie Miller will have no affiliates in the Bay Area in 2014.

So it looks like the new Talk 910 KKSF schedule will be:
6am-10am: Armstrong & Getty (the show is already 4 hours long, but only 650 KSTE up in Sacramento carries hour 4, while 910 has carried syndicated shows Dave Ramsey then Rush Limbaugh over hour 4)
10am-1pm: Frosty Rucker (local guy I've never heard of)
1pm-3pm: Randi Rhodes
3pm-7pm: Gil Gross (former KGO host who moved here after KGO went all news)
7pm-10pm: Alan Colmes (can you believe Hannity's "liberal" co host on their old Fox News show is still on the radio?)
10pm-overnight: Coast to Coast AM (a.k.a. "Kook to Kook&quot

960 KNEW:
6am-9am: Beck
9am-12pm: Rush
12pm-3pm: Insannity
3pm-6pm: Most likely Premiere Radio Network's America Now with Andy Dean live, as KSFO already has Mark Levin. No way Right Radio will keep Norman Goldman. You might remember Andy Dean from The Apprentice back in 2004. 560 already has Cumulus' "Mark Levin Show".
6pm-7pm: Market Wrap with Moe Ansari
7pm-10pm: Dave Ramsey will probably move here. Because 960's nighttime signal is weaker the farther down US-101 from SF, a delayed presentation of Ramsey's "live debt free" financial advice show is the most efficient way to use this signal. So much nighttime interference...from the 50 kW 940 KFIG out of Fresno, the 17 kW 950 XEKAM out of Tijuana, and 50 kW CFAC 960 out of Calgary.
10pm-snooze: Maybe one of those third-rate after hours shows like "Overnight America with Jon Grayson" (no relation to Rep. Alan Grayson)

This is absolutely sad because out here in Sacramento, there is no progressive talk anywhere and now we don't have a local voice anywhere in the region that isn't a stupid kfbk or kste or ksfo or, well I can go on which is sad itself. At least there's still KPFA, the new kxry in portland and Democracy Now on KXJZ(Oh wait, they cancelled that for a stupid show called Q).

Pat Thurston is a local KGO progressive host whose show is on Saturdays 6-9pm and Sundays 4-7pm. She's interviewed people like Russ Baker and even Bill Ayers. Brian Copeland whose show is before Pat's Sunday show is left wing too I think. Recent shows:

And "Q" is the CBC Canadian equivalent of NPR's "Fresh Air". Are you not a fan of shows like "Fresh Air"?

The new Sacramento-area affiliate for Democracy Now is KDVS 90.3, the UC Davis student station. Weekdays at noon. I prefer to watch DN on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/democracynow

Oh, do you remember when KFBK actually had a liberal show? Sac Bee columnist Bruce Maiman used to have the 7-10pm show before the station replaced him with Sean Hannity on tape delay. Ironically he was fired on the day Obama became president.

Where right-wing politicians who are going to lose the next election but go on to spread lies about how Jerry Brown is ruining California. And I did find KDVS, Great station. I heard they may add Thom Hartmann in 2014 . Let's hope it's true.

Ironic how election time comes, poof...another progressive voice gone.
Oh and we ACTUALLY DON'T get 910 here because of a local station, 950 kahi and another weird AM920. We do get kgo easily, depending where you're at.

KQED has a repeater serving Sacramento County, KQEI 89.3. Before 2003, 89.3 was an Family Radio affiliate. Family Radio is the network with old end times crazy guy Harold Camping. I don't know why "Insight" is such a crummy show you think.

And according to radio-locator, 910 should have a decent signal in Sacramento. But I get that there's the need to protect 920 out in Sonora (I don't think that station reaches Sacramento at all in the daytime) and the 920 station in Reno. 910 is 20 kW day and 5 kW night.

Clear Channel is dropping all progressive radio and spreading Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck etc. across more channels.

Doesn't matter how many Progressive radio programs are shut down-- people still know the score (particularly those who voted PBO in for another term)

At least, that's what I hope. California is not exactly a repuke stronghold.

IMO
