Why would a major defense contractor such as Boeing want to contribute to a candidate in a Republican primary for California Assembly?

Here’s one possibility: The candidate is Patricia McKeon, who’s married to Rep. Buck McKeon, who chairs the House Armed Services Committee.
Other contributors, according to filings with the California Secretary of State, include:
• General Atomics
• General Dynamics
• General Electric
• Lockheed Martin
• Raytheon
