Protest in front of Fresno police station 12/10 at 5pm

Wednesday, December 10, 2014, 5 pm

Fresno Police Department
2323 Mariposa Mall, Fresno, California

The Fresno Brown Berets, the National Network in Action and MAPA will be holding a press conference on December 10th in honor of International Human Rights Day. Supporters are invited to join.

The taxpayers of Fresno feel that law enforcement has an obligation to respect and uphold human rights in our community. We are sending a clear message to authorities... We will not stand for another death at the hands of law enforcement! The deaths of Eric Garner in New York and Michael Brown in Ferguson and the subsequent acquittal of the officers responsible for their death have opened up a dialogue in our community and across the nation.

During Jerry Dyer's term as Chief of Police in Fresno, there have been 80 police murders... There are over 170 officers that have been involved in shootings and 37 officers who are repeat shooters. Eight of those officers have been involved in 3 or more. One officer currently on the force has shot 6 people. This is tantamount to a serial killer legally patrolling the streets of Fresno!! This is also a burden to taxpayers who have to pay out millions of dollars in civil rights settlement plus court costs. The above mentioned organizations and our allies are prepared to inform and more importantly warn the tax payers of Fresno that their lives and the lives of their sons are in danger!!
