Last call at Cat and Fiddle: U.K. ex-pats' favorite L.A. pub to close

Story here

A well-loved pub in Los Angeles which was a haven for U.K. expatriates and Anglophiles has shut its doors. Thanks to rent hikes, the Cat and Fiddle is no more.

When I lived in Hwood, my office was just a couple blocks away. Had many a fine lunch there. Owners were/are gracious and friendly people. Wish I could be there for the last day, but I'm outta town.

I did hear they're going to reopen very close to the old location. But sadly, no courtyard.

That courtyard was the best. Heard about the closing in November and immediately went for pints and a scotch egg.
