We are getting a ridiculous number of campaign ads from Ref Rodriguez
who is running for the Los Angeles school board.
I am disgusted that so much money is being spent on this race.
The brochures from Ref Rodriguez are not only extremely numerous, but they look really expensive.
Where is he getting the money to fund his campaign?
Here goes:
Los Angeles Unified school board candidate Ref Rodriguez collected $21,000 in campaign donations from employees of his charter school network, Partnerships to Uplift Communities, in his bid to unseat incumbent Bennett Kayser in East Los Angeles District 5.
Most striking, a handful of his workers a janitor, maintenance worker, tutor are donating at or near the contribution limit, $1,100.
. . . .
The biggest donor is charter school advocacy groups, such as the California Charter School Association Advocates.

I have to ask what motivates individuals or a group to spend so much money on a school board election? What do they expect to get in return for that investment? And if a group that advocates for charter schools has that much money, why aren't they spending it on their schools and on their students?
I find the numerous brochures (we got three glossy ones in one day last week and continue to get more) annoying.
Rodriguez started his own charter schools with Wal-Mart money.

That article is supposed to be favorable to Rodriguez. I am not impressed with his brochures and his waste of money on them. A brochure a day will not win my vote.
I'm voting against charter schools and for Bennet Kayser.
