New solar plant to be built in Northern Colorado

A solar energy facility that will produce enough electricity to power 7,000 homes in Northern Colorado will soon be under construction north of Wellington.

Platte River Power Authority, a wholesale power generation company owned by Estes Park, Fort Collins, Longmont and Loveland, signed an agreement with Boulder-based Juwi Solar to develop, design, build and operate the 22-megawatt solar energy facility at the Rawhide Energy Station.

Design and construction should start this summer and be completed in late summer 2016, according to PRPA.

Once completed, the 185-acre solar farm will increase PRPA's renewable energy portfolio — wind, solar and hydropower — to about 30 percent of its total output, said Pete Hoelscher of Platte River Power Authority.

With the oil industry at a standstill I am hearing about some Oil Corps moving into the solar/ wind energy fields.
Though their reasons are purely for profit factors, i'm guessing.
One energy company, think it is Exelon, has bought into a major solar company in Mexico.
They see profit but will they also seek legislation that favors that profit over people.

As they claim rights over the personal collection of rain, will they attempt to claim rights over personal collection of the sun's energy by legislating against personal use of rooftop or other types of solar collection?

The law needs to be written so the right of solar & wind collection of energy belongs to all citizens.
Sun & Wind are free.
