State To Expand Bus Service Connecting UConn To Downtown Hartford

The state is expanding bus service to UConn's flagship campus in Storrs in preparation for the university's new downtown Hartford location.

Beginning Sunday, hourly buses will connect students on the Storrs campus to the Hartford campus, which will open later this month.

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy said his administration is committed to the new line even as the state operates under executive order due to the legislature’s failure to pass a budget.

"UConn's proximity to Hartford is a great strength that has long been ignored," he said Thursday outside Hartford’s Union Station.
