Delaware Governor "Accidentally?" Tweets Bondage Gear Picture

Talking Points Memo: The model whose photo accidentally wound up in a post sent from Delaware Gov. Jack Markell’s (D) Twitter account said Thursday that being tied to the politician "offended" her.

Markell’s office had apologized Thursday after an “inappropriate” tweet including a photo of a blonde woman wearing what appeared to be bondage gear was sent out from his account. A link to a recently uploaded photo of the governor introducing a new education initiative had been altered by a single letter, causing the old photo of the blond woman to be included in the tweet instead.

“The lessons here are not to compose tweets too quickly and there is a lot of odd stuff on the internet,” a statement released by Markell’s office read. “We just wish the accidental link had been a cat video.”

The Twitter user who claimed the photo, @PreciousLittle, lists her name as Darja in her bio and described herself as an Estonian model, singer, and photo editor...(S)he (has since) tweeted...

Regarding an image tweeted of me today, it was a harmless selfie/candid from a photoshoot years ago. I believe it was an honest accident.

For the record, I am not now nor have I ever been a dominatrix. I've also never had any personal involvement with any politicians.

I don't deserve to have my integrity or that of anyone I know questioned because of a stranger's error.

I've been happily engaged for years...

I tweet a different photo from my hard drive four times a week. I always check to make sure I've selected the right one before posting, and I check the tweet immediately after posting, deleting it immediately if I got anything wrong. I have tweeted photos from online by copying and pasting its URL; I have tweeted uploaded Twitter photos by copying and pasting its URL. My question is, HOW did URL of the Markell's photo get "altered"? Was it the work of a hacker, or did Markell simply upload the wrong photo from his OWN hard drive?

This bizarre question:

HOW did URL of the Markell's photo get "altered"? Was it the work of a hacker, or did Markell simply upload the wrong photo from his OWN hard drive?

is even answered in your cite:

Now... what explains your derisive quotes around "accidentally" when they don't appear in your cited article?

Use TallTweets if you need more than 140 characters. And thank you for steering me away from Owly.

P.S. As a mea culpa, I'll add a question mark to my headline -- it works for Fox News!

And one letter on the end of the shortened link got deleted. This was the result. It wasn't his picture. The incorrect shortened link just went to the wrong pic instead.
