Roger Stone due back in court after Instagram post that showed judge in his case
By Rachel Weiner
February 21 at 6:30 AM
Longtime Republican operative and Trump confidante Roger Stone is due back in federal court Thursday in the wake of posting an Instagram photo of the judge in his criminal case that included what appeared to be the crosshairs of a gun sight.
The initial picture was deleted from Stones account soon after it went online Monday and reposted again without the background image. Then that post, too, was deleted.
....
Stone, 66, is under a limited gag imposed by Judge Amy Berman Jackson after being accused of lying about his efforts in 2016 to gather information concerning hacked Democratic Party emails. A caption on the Instagram post of Jackson said Stone faced a show trial in her courtroom after his indictment stemming from special counsel Robert S. Mueller IIIs investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Jackson called a hearing for Thursday at 2:30 p.m. to ask why, in light of the image, she should not expand the gag order in Stones case or restrict his freedom. He has pleaded not guilty and is currently out on a $250,000 bond, allowed to travel between South Florida, Washington and New York City. He is also allowed to discuss the case publicly, just not in the immediate vicinity of the D.C. federal courthouse.

Hello on this snow-meltingly warm day from the DC federal courthouse, where Roger Stone is due at 2:30pm for a hearing on his Instagram post about the judge, and whether she'll strengthen her gag order and/or change his release conditions as a result. T-minus two hours before he's due in court to answer for his Instagram activity, Roger Stone has taken to the platform to quote from the bible (HT @dsamuelsohn)

(7,142 posts)1. Not good timing for Stone,
that they nabbed the pro Russian white supremacist who was planning on whacking a lot of people.
I'm guessing that this judge doesn't want to be included on a right wing hit list.
Of note, in her letter to Stone informing him of today's hearing, she used all caps at times.

Roger Stone has entered the courthouse for his 2:30pm hearing. He's wearing a gray double-breasted suit, a blue and white striped shirt, a light blue tie, and a blue-hued patterned pocket square

Judge Amy Berman Jackson has entered the courtroom and we're off she scheduled this hearing to address Roger Stone's now-deleted Instagram post about her, and whether she needs to revise her limited gag order and/or Stone's release conditions (I'm watching from the media room)
