April 1st Primary

What are people's thoughts on the primary? The candidate I'll probably spend most time supporting is At-Large candidate Nate Bennett-Fleming. Nate's the current shadow representative and a pretty forward thinking individual, who's up against the pretty bad incumbent, Anita Bonds. He's an underdog, but I feel his campaign is definitely worth supporting.

For mayor, eh - it looks like Gray's going to be reelected. I'll probably end up voting for Andy Shallal, owner of Busboys and Poets as well as a leftist activist. He's the only one of the contenders that seems to really be talking about income inequality and how to create a more equitable city. It doesn't look like he'll win, but then again, it doesn't look like anyone will except for Gray.

The Ward 1 race should be interesting to watch. I expect Jim Graham to (unfortunately) beat Brianne Nadeau. Grahams been good on some economic issues, but suffers in the ethics department. Progressive activist Bryan Weaver will be running against against the winner of the primary in the general election.

Thoughts?
