Restoration Movement news for Friday, August 5, 2022

Rough day for the 1776 Restoration Movement as the group's leader told his followers to "go to hell," and they were chased off the National Mall after continually being called "groomers" and "rapists" by fellow right-wing convoy factions.

After covering versions of the People’s Convoy for six months: today was the end of it. In the end, they accomplished absolutely nothing besides looping the Beltway, fighting each other, spamming the emergency line, badgering DC residents, & wasting fuel.

Proud boy leader Santa made a dramatic announcement: "You can go to hell, I'm going to Ohio", but he went to a campground in Virginia with his mostest loyalistest "security force", close enough to make day trips to DC. The conflict (and fundraising) continues. They have a staging base in VA, a bigger base in WV, and a day presence now on the Mall.

I think a flurry of complaints to NPS got their permit cancelled. They were living in their cars for a month on the Mall. The police decided to finally enforce the law and arrest anyone camping/sleeping in their cars a couple days ago. That killed their buzz.

They have connections to proud boys and have J6 insurrection veterans in their hard core, and they harassed a J6 witness, Michael Fanone. They harbored at least one registered Level 3 sex offender at their base camp in WV. He was videoed visiting their Mall camp. But they're officially "Christians".
