I always look at WeatherUnderground. You can zero in on every mile on the planet, no kidding. They can tell you the weather in the middle of anywhere. I just checked out DC. They are very detailed and accurate as well as San Diego Weather Blog.

I loved teaching my 1st graders about the weather. They could distinguish 4 types of cloud formations. We did a "class weather report" throughout the day. I was glad when we got projectors that showed anything onto the big screen without making a transparency for the overhead projector. I would get the thermometer and plop it down on the projector and my students learned how to tell the temperature on the thermometer that way. Some days it was over 90° in the classroom and the kids were able to read the thermometer to verify that it was hotter than hell and they had the right to complain (no A/C).
