Hospitalizations are flat because there are no more beds.

Cases are flat because they are put of testing supplies(or just not testing).

Let's wait a week and see what happens to the death rate. Of course, In Florida if you have a second residence somewhere else (as many retirees do), they will not count them in the state statistics and those Covid deaths disappear into the bureaucratic ether.

This is the dangerous kind of false narrative with statistics that will allow the evil governors to justify their decisions.

2. Plenty of capacity still in terms of beds that can be converted

The ICUBedsCounty is the one I've paid attention to most and I've never seen it drop below 15% statewide. Some counties have dropped to low single digits but then they convert beds into ICU.

Death rate does lag hospitalizations by 2-3 weeks so that will continue to rise but seeing signs of reaching the peak

Right! It's relatively fast and easy to test for death.

The FL DOH PDF has multiple sections to it.

I just made a series of tweets to show what's going on with that report.

4. Still in the 10,000 daily range for new cases (just under that today)

In my layman's opinion, we are seeing the end of the 4th of July surge. We will probably see another huge rush on, the reopening of schools, Labor day, or in the event of a hurricane forcing people into crowed shelters, or to travel, to be followed by Thanksgiving and Christmas rushes.

There is no force in play in Florida to tamp down the pandemic, Florida's governor has decided to just go with the flow, and ignore the virus; the ass will not even mandate mask usage. It is leadership Republican style. Desantis is trying to prove that he is Presidential material and that he can beat Rick Scott to the Oval Office.

piss-poor leadership at the national and (FL) state levels.

She artificially inflates the daily numbers by including unreliable antibody test results. Those offer nothing and distort the true growth.

FL already publishes those weekly in a separate report.

And that’s not just an error. She made a horrible error in judgment and she has disgraced herself even more

If that’s accurate (I don’t trust DeSantis) that’s a slight glimmer of hope.

Still needs to trend downward.

And even higher in some counties -- I would place real money on that.
