Well I do have a big mouth and I use it a lot but has anyone else seen this over abundance of "Bad Behavior"

letters from doctors? I swear they piss me off. I needed a referral from the family doc so I called. I was given referrals over the phone in the past. This time she insisted I come down, (it was not the doctor but a PA - another one of my pet peeves at the moment)

So I drive down there and fill out that Ipad and then it shows that I owe $127. I knew there was no way because I am on Medicare and my co-pays are at the most $35. So I was pissed off and gave it back to the receptionist and asked, "Is this why you wanted me to come down here?"

That was it. That was all I said. Then I was sent one of those "Bad Behavior" letters. I felt like sending it back to the doctor, who is supposed to be the doctor but I didn't. It turned out that through the patient portal I was able to fix it and I owed nothing.

The AMA called the use of these PA's and Nurses "Scope creep" They are able to do more and more and they are just not qualified. I've decided that I will not see any doctor that wants to pawn me off to a PA or nurse. I am tired of paying for shitty treatment. AND these letters, (I've gotten more than one) make me think they want you to act like a damn stepford wife. They can fuck up as much as their inexperience allows them to but you are to "Keep sweet and smile"

I don't do "Keep sweet and smile" well at all.

1. I've never heard of a "bad behavior" letter.. Are they scolding you for asking why you had to come down in person? nt

get anywhere close to where OTHER patients are talking with staff as that could/would be a HIPAA violation.

I hate that this is necessary and it isn't focused on health care-- but everywhere, frankly where disagreements are discussed.

in a "psychiatric" doctor's office that turned out to not have a doctor working at it. She looked at my prescriptions and said, "You have to come off this klonopin" like she was a fucking rehab counselor. There is a very good reason I take those pills, (the are benzodiazepines but long acting ones). There was an argument and she got up and told me to leave and then I thought of turning on the recorder. The first shot is of her trying to grab it from me.

Anyway they 'fired" me from that place but thank God. I checked with the reviews and they were horrible! I can't remember if I reported them to the authorities but I should have.

Now I have a really good psychiatrist who I can tell is intelligent. As far as a family doctor I have another one who I may just use instead of those goof balls and their 'bad behavior letter obsession.

I have had a lot of medical problems over the years so I have been to a lot of doctors. I should write a book. One thing I can say right now is the quality of care has gone way down with this "scope creep" which is what the AMA calls it, (when people with less and less education and training are given more and more jobs with patients to the point that they are now diagnosing people)

There are two types of situations: (I) where treatment is occurring, and (iI) where issues involving records/billing have arisen. The former is when I am prone to lash out. The latter I can take in stride.

I fired my last primary for not giving me a referral to a specialist. Doctors have to toe the insurance companies lines these days. They also know they aren’t the only game in town. Stress for all. Do what you must to take care of yourself.

So do you-I have seen your posts around..And anyway I think anyone who gets a Bad Behavior letter has to be cool ..
Edit: I deleted the earlier post about my mom’s passing.. shrug..a bad time in my life. Anyway I still support your bad behavior .

I still have to be goaded into bad behavior some though I generally support it in other people .. normally I would prefer a live and let live take but sometimes when the “live” part seems to look a little dicey..one gets all belligerent which is an exhausting headspace to maintain.

My own conflict strategy is definitely flight over fight ..kidding..I prefer non conflict mostly but yeah sometimes bad behavior is needed.
