was wonderful. They didn't need any air freshener. It was the best smelling shop I've ever been in. Their spices are so fresh.

3. Lucky! Sadly, we lost our Penzey's store (2 times!) a while ago.

When they were in downtown Seattle (Pine Street, near the Market) I would stop by almost every week.

When they had to move (raising rents) up to Lynnwood we'd make it up there every couple of months.

They closed that store shortly after the pandemic, so we've had to rely on just mailorder.

Don't get me wrong - their mail-order is still great, but nothing matches being able to see and sniff, and having wonderful interactions with their staff. My entire spice rack and drawer are stocked with Penzey's. We give Penzey's gift cards to friends. I buy the ones I use most in the larger bags and refill the jars as I go.

But I still miss being able to stop by and try something new on a whim, based on how it smelled in the store.

fortunate to have two Penzeys, in very different parts of town. Alas, covid killed the second one.

Thank goodness for mail order!
