Looks like backwater justice in Casselberry is going to get a review at the State Attorneys office

This was the case of the vice-mayor ordering her landscaper to remove prize bougainvilleas off her neighbor's property. Anywhere else this would be viewed as a perfect example of trespassing, theft and vandalism. But, instead, the police department is sending this to the Attorney General to determine if charges should be filed.

Would the police department have so much trouble making that decision if it were any of us?

Here's a clip from the bottom of the article, which has the troubling info:

Casselberry's thorny case of missing bougainvillea going to state attorney

Attorney Solomon then asked detectives to hold off searching for clues to give his mother and the Monteses time to work out a compromise.

"The Police Department has been wanting to get this resolved, and they have allowed both parties to get this resolved," Brady said. "But the parties have not been able to reach an agreement."

Mark Solomon said he tried to come to a "neighborly resolution" with Montes. But unfortunately, he said, that has not occurred.

Still, he railed against the attention the case has received in the media.

"A bougainvillea does not deserve this attention," he said. "Mrs. Solomon has not done anything wrong … I'm just proud of the job she has done for the community."
