Alachua woman gets one-year term after stealing $200,000

An Alachua woman was sentenced to prison Monday after pleading guilty to credit card fraud and grand theft, according to Alachua County court documents.

Kimberly Cason Young, 48, had worked for OneVax, a vaccination company that received federal grants, as a financial consultant since October 2013, according to a Gainesville Police Department sworn complaint.

An American Express credit card account was opened for OneVax that month, and cards were issued to several company members, including Young.

In December 2013, another American Express credit card account was opened for OneVax and its owner, Mark Atkinson, without his knowledge. Young made herself a card user, records show.
