Terrie Rizzo elected as chair of the Florida Democratic Party.

Terrie, currently chair of the Palm Beach County Democratic Party, won by a vote of 830-291 over Stacey Patel, Brevard County's chairwoman. The original field of 4 candidates was reduced to 3 when Monica Russo, Florida head of SEIU, withdrew and threw her support behind Patel. The other candidate, Alma Gonzalez, state committeewoman from Hillsborough County, also withdrew and threw her support behind Rizzo.
