I am not a member of any organized political party. I am a Democrat (Jax,FL)

Our local DEM office has been begging for volunteers for months. Last election I was a poll watcher and wanted to do it again this time. The coordinator forgot to put my name down for the Early Voting period, but assured me at the half day training session that she'd put me down for Election Day. Guess what, she forgot. Myself and other volunteers were forgotten or accidentally left off the roles. So we cannot be Poll Watchers, but instead all we could do is stand ear the road and hold signs and wave. Sure, that'll help protect the vote.

It's shocking how inept our local office is at getting things done.

No/little enforcement of lines, more like globs of people waiting. No/little enforcement of campaigning within 150'.
4 RR tee shirts within 15/20 feet of the door.
I called the DNC office and they said "thank you".

Here in Leon County at my early voting location our Supervisor had a security guard patrolling the line of voters waiting, enforced the distance for campaigning, and directing people of additional places to park. Periodically one of the poll workers would also walk the line, checking for campaign tee shirts and handing out sample ballots so people could study them before they got in the building. They would also look for people having a hard time lasting in line and take elderly and handicapped people to the front of the line.

But then, Leon County has one of the most awesome Supervisors of Elections in the country!
