6 defeated...

Today, voters across Florida fundamentally rejected political interference in personal medical decisions by voting down the deceptive Amendment 6. Thank you and congratulations to everyone who helped to defeat this dangerous amendment!

In 2011, in addition to referring Amendment 6 to the ballot, the Florida Legislature filed 18 different bills attacking women’s access to healthcare – and they filed nine more in 2012.

Today’s vote sends a strong message to Tallahassee politicians to get to work on the issues that are important to Florida families and to keep out of the exam room where they don't belong.

Congratulations again to all of our amazing volunteers, tireless campaign staff and the entire coalition of individuals and organizations including the medical community, faith leaders, students and trusted civic organizations who opposed Amendment 6.

Again, congratulations on this historic victory,

Lillian A. Tamayo, Campaign Chair
