Gov. DeSantis revamps Orlando airport board with 4 new members

Personal Note: Someone, someday should write a biography on Frank Kruppenbacher. He was a good ole boy, political attorney who used a decision-making process that relied on inside circles. The effect was to undermine due process in our communities and created imbalances that favored autocratic societies. I'm sure he'll land on his feet, somewhere in Central Florida.

Gov. Ron DeSantis named on Wednesday four members for the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, a move that brings the departure of the agency’s chairman, Frank Kruppenbacher.

The new members, subject to the Legislature’s approval, are: Carson Good of Winter Park, a managing director of Jones Lang LaSalle Americas; Randall Hunt of Lake Mary, owner of Athletic Apex; Ralph Martinez of Orlando, a managing partner of McEwan Martinez Dukes & Hall; and Jason Pirozzolo of Winter Garden, director of sports medicine at Orlando Hand Surgery Associates.

Last week, DeSantis revoked former Gov. Rick Scott’s GOAA appointments last year of Dean Asher, Julian Fouche and Maria Montalvo. Kruppenbacher’s final term lapsed in April last year but he remained on the board because Scott did not name a replacement for him.

With the revamping of the seven-member airport board, only Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and one other board member are veterans. Jerry Demings joined the GOAA board after he was elected as Orange County mayor last year.
