Central Floridians, who use 528 - Have you encountered this situation?

We attended a barn wedding at the Barn Stall Winery and Wedding Barn last month and used the e-pass road system to get there. As you would expect, the charge showed up on our e-pass bill and we paid it. But it appears that the SunPass also controls that exit and they charged us again -- and gouged us. They wanted us to pay $3.25 for the one exit they control, which is the exit we had to take to get there on time.

This just doesn't seem right. My husband tried to appeal it and they denied it, claiming that the car did not match the account description -- even though they included a picture of the car and license plate - and was fine with E-pass!

So, I figure this is a Florida trap.

And if it is, I thought it was worth bringing up so other people can either avoid the exit, or, for someone who might have more resources, to see if the transportation system isn't practicing gouging.

It's funny what gets under people's skin. I have run around with my hair on fire for the last two decades trying to get hubby to join me in fighting against the soul gouging that goes on in my community, but it's a $3.25 bill where he tried to make a stand. Maybe it's because he thought it was a fight he could win?

Anyway, here's the general information:
Exit: SR 528 SR 520 MP31 amount: .75
Administrative charge: $2.50
For a total of $3.25.
