models predict new trop. storm/hurricane south of the islands this weekend...
GFS and ECMWF both predicting tropical storm genesis leading to hurricane south of the islands later in the week. in modern times the most damaging storms to his the islands developed in this form then turn sharply north into Kauai. Currently models keep the storm moving west past the island zone however.
the storm is the orange blob south of Hawaii. Click the days to see the progress.
