Iowa Republicans, including Governor Kim Reynolds, came under fire from conservatives this week after a Satanic altar was erected in the Iowa State Capitol.

... I heard Satan was once an Angel. He (it?) did something bad and was given the heave-ho by God. Soooooo... when God begat Jesus with Mary, I think that was God's way to be a little nicer. No more genocides a la Noah and the ark. Well, why can't Satan be forgiven, too? Maybe he's been forgiven, and we haven't heard about it, yet? Then, having Satanists should be okay, right? I guess I'm just an eternal optimist.

Prometheus, Lucifer, Lightbringer all the same name for free-thought and self-enlightenment without the bonds of religion. Ahura Mazda was another that taught enlightenment and self-knowledge.

This display actually made me proud to be an Iowan for a change.

BTW, if you've never heard Chris Plante, you're lucky. Do yourself a favor and avoid him if you can.
