Ranked Choice Voting Dilemma

Iowa Democratic Caucuses switching to ranked-choice voting
https://www.kaaltv.com/news/iowa-democratic-caucuses-switching-to-ranked-choice-voting/

I have already requested my Presidential Preference card for the 2024 Iowa Caucus and I will definitely be choosing Joe Biden as my #1 Presidential Preference. The problem I have is deciding between Marianne Williamson or Dean Phillips as my #2 and #3 ranked preference. I'm stumped because i don't really want to choose either one. Guess I will have to toss a coin.

Yeah, I don't think I like this ranked choice voting, people can't decide even on one favorite much less the rest Walleye Jan 2024 #2

If the sample ballot from the IDP is any indication of how it works, it appears you only get one choice. progressoid Jan 2024 #4

Don’t give the complicators ANY attention.

Heck, write in Joe Biden a couple more times. Run the table!

I don't imagine the rules allow more than one vote for a Candidate, but I don't know about write ins. I will do some research on that .

You have to vote for more than one.

The good thing about ranked choice is you can vote for the person you want. And if they don't make the cut off you can choose some one you can tolerate. If you want Joe, put him first. If you can't tolerate the others don't fill them in. Your vote for him will stay.

Apparently Rank Choice voting has been added and they have not updated the sample ballot on their website.
According to this ABC news video and several Democratic election workers I have talked to, we will have to rank our presidential preference.

Changes coming to Iowa Democratic Caucuses
(ABC 6 News) – The Iowa caucuses are two weeks away; tonight, local Democratic leaders want to remind people
things will look a little different this year

Democratic voters now have to request a “presidential preference” card, where voters will rank which presidential
candidate they want to represent the party.

I guess it's time to contact the IDP and tell them to get their shit together.

This kind of thing is frustrating to say the least. And also just a little bit embarrassing.

No way Joe isn't top Democratic pick. Ranked choice is only used if no one gets over 50%+1 vote. The lowest gets dropped and then their voter's second choices get used. In Ranked Choice only pick candidates you support, don't fill out the list with anyone you don't like.
