Bleeding Heartland's editor files suit against Chief Clerk of Iowa House

https://www.bleedingheartland.com/2024/01/19/im-suing-the-iowa-house-chief-clerk-over-denial-of-press-credentials/

The GOP has been discriminating against Laurie Belin and trying to prevent her from reporting on the state legislature for a long time, while giving other political reporters access. It will be interesting to see what comes of this.

Interesting that she's not using Belin McCormick to file the suit. rsdsharp Jan 2024 #1
Great - from what I have followed she should have an excellent case rurallib Jan 2024 #2

and I hope she wins.

Too bad she can't force Corporate Kim to let her have access also. Back in the covid days when Kimmer would do her daily (or weekly) press schtick she did everything she could to keep Belin shut up. Kim don't like real, well-researched questions from an informed reporter.

I got the impression that Kim is just plain afraid of Belin

Hope she wins this.

The right wing loves to drone on and on about freedom of the press while they are the first to want to infringe upon those freedoms.
