Police haul you to jail and charge you with felony for bringing weed into the jail???

(Red Oak) -- A traffic stop in Red Oak around 11:30 Monday night resulted in a suspect being tasered and arrested.

The Red Oak Police report that during a traffic stop at the City View parking lot, a passenger in the stopped vehicle exited the car and began to run. Officers chased S**** D**** L*** toward Senate Avenue and ordered him to stop several times. Officers then deployed a taser to Lewis's back, bringing him to the ground. Police say he was intoxicated and under the legal age to consume alcohol.

Once booked inside the Montgomery County jail, officers charge he entered the jail with a controlled substance. Lewis is currently being held on $5,000 cash only bond and will be charged with a Class D Felony for entering a jail facility with contraband, possession of marijuana, public intoxication, interference with official acts and possession of alcohol under legal age.
