Branstad Hosts hate fest in Ames

Iowa governor Terry Branstad hosted a gathering of the Family Leader, a subsidiary of the Family Research Council (FRC) in Ames yesterday. The FRC has been labeled a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, for its strident anti-LGBT rhetoric

This one tweet pretty well summarizes the tone of the conference:

due to the nature of the event and the notoriety of the participants. Sure wish I knew how to contact Rachel Maddow. She is pretty good on LGBT stuff and this may be in her wheelhouse.

Of course there is a group of Iowans that are happy to see him hanging with these creeps. But rank and file Iowans don't.

Matt is pretty good about following up.

Unfortunately the re-entry into Iraq and the happenings in Ferguson came along.

Rand Paul is taking some heat for skipping out of the hate-fest, BTW
