Christie backer describes Iowa caucuses as 'a bunch of old ladies'

First a GOP strategist used the word "morons" in a tweet referring to "government-dependent" Iowans.

Then a GOP financial backer described the Iowa caucuses as "a bunch of old ladies."

Iowa has been getting kicked around lately.

On Monday evening, the Wall Street Journal published an article that quoted a supporter of Republican Chris Christie, the governor of New Jersey and a possible 2016 presidential candidate, dissing Iowa.

"While Mr. Christie's backers say his prospects are good in Iowa," the Journal reported, "some in his camp also contend the state isn't central to their prospects. Ken Langone, one of Mr. Christie's top financial supporters, pointed out that Rick Santorum won the state's caucuses in 2012. 'What did it do for him overall?' Mr. Langone asked. 'Nada. Nothing. Zippo.' "

I was laughing at the stupidity of the spokesperson (or people) who are dissing Iowa Caucuses (love them or hate them, if you're a politician, you probably shouldn't insult them).

I'm hoping Christie and his staff are shooting themselves in the foot.

We have worked and saved most of our lives, created businesses, worked for candidates - this has nothing to do with that, but some preconceived notion that old women are biddies. I happen to be a saint, they just don't know it.

But that is exactly what capitalism does, it values people based on how much money they can make for someone else, i.e., a perfect description of the US today...and I am getting d%#n tired of it...

Because this asswipe is my Governor and it proves - the hostility that got him into office in NJ is going to put his nuts in a vise in places where people expect you to be polite.

To this Iowan, he comes off as a mean-spirited bully. Hopefully, Republican caucus goers will feel the same way.

This is one of those What were they thinking? moments. One of several recently with the governor of NJ.
