Poor Joni hasn't been told who to support yet.

(Washington) -- Iowa Senator Joni Ernst says she will endorse whoever the Republican party nominates for president--Donald Trump or otherwise.

Until then, the Red Oak Republican declines to endorse any of the candidates still in the race for the GOP nomination. With Trump continuing to wrack up primary and caucus victories across the country, Ernst was asked during Thursday's conference call with reporters whether she would endorse the billionaire businessman as the nominee. She referred to the Republican platform in her response.

"Again, my viewpoint is, we need smaller government," said Ernst. "We need efficient government. We have $19 trillion in debt. And, I believe the candidates on the Republican ticket are ones that support efforts in sustaining and working with our budget, making sure we're not growing it excessively. So, whoever that person is on the Republican ticket, I will support that nominee."

The party hates Trump.

Congress hates Cruz.

Rubio can't gain traction.

And Kasich is too "moderate".

It's a lose, lose, lose, lose situation.

She is another "duck and cover" hack. She should change her name to Chuckette.

Happy-faced delivery system for ALEC legislation. Never wanders off the path.
