reposting: Hillary to be in QCA Monday - Hampton, Ill

HAMPTON, Illinois — Democratic Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton is making a stop in the Quad Cities on Labor Day.
The Clinton Campaign announced the visit on Tuesday, August 30th, 2016. The stop will be at the 49th Annual Salute to Labor Event at Illiniwek Park Riverfront Site in Hampton, Illinois on Monday, September 5th, 2016. A time has not be set yet.

Clinton made a stop at this same event last year on Labor Day. Here is the WQAD News 8 Report from that day.

Clinton and Kaine are also scheduled to make stops at the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Labor Day Parade and the 11th Congressional District Community Caucus Labor Day Festival in Cleveland, Ohio.

According to the Clinton Campaign, “Clinton and Kaine will deliver remarks about their plans to build an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top, and celebrate the contributes of American workers and organized labor.”

But that's ok. I just waited too long. I went last year, wearing a Bernie button and they told me either I had to take it back to the car or give it up at the tent. It was a long walk back to the car, so I gave it up. But the more I thought about it, the more it irritated me, so we left and went to get ice cream at a place in my hometown of LeClaire, almost directly across the river. Whether I will attend this year's picnic remains to be seen. That whole thing with the button still irks me.

With age neither of us stands very well. Going through security will be a huge pain. Gates open at 8AM but it may be a while before Hillary shows.

Hope you are able to go.

She didn't even arrive until nearly 6:00 and then channel 6 televised the entire speech anyway. That would have made for an excrutiatingly loooooonnnnnngggggg day and with a kid in tow, it just wouldn't have worked out well.
