Iowa Congressman Steve King defends Trump's crude remarks during immigration talks

Congressman Steve King of Iowa on Friday defended President Donald Trump, who has come under fire for reportedly using crude language to describe El Salvador, Haiti and African nations in conversations about immigration reform.

According to a report from the Washington Post, Trump asked lawmakers, "Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?" before suggesting the United States accept more people from countries such as Norway.

Trump's reported comments drew immediate criticism from Americans as well as other world leaders. But King, an eight-term Republican from Iowa's conservative 4th District, defended the president Friday morning.

"Hang in there Mr. President @realDonaldTrump," King tweeted. "If those countries aren't as you described, Democrats should be happy to deport criminal aliens back to them. &End #AnchorBabies, too."

-snip-

In a follow-up tweet, King wrote: "Assimilation has become a dirty word to the multiculturalist Left. Assimilation, not diversity, is our American strength."

With the follow-up tweet King proved that he is a Borg rather than a human.

Resistance is not futile.

Then again the roasting that Grassley got when he appeared in the heart of King country gives me some hope. Wait until he gets to the east part of the state.
